NCMD and Regional News

The Christmas Social meeting on Friday 7th December was well attended by club representatives. We enjoyed a range of good meals including some from the Major Retreat's Christmas Menu and had plenty to eat and drink. Andy and Lorraine arranged a special raffle with lots of prizes, and also did several fun quizzes that all joined in with. Thank you to them both for all the effort they put into this.

The past year hasn't been without a few issues, but the region is now definitely stronger  and with a more unified direction than is has previously manged to be in.

Please note our meetings this coming New Year will be held on the following Thursday dates:-

14th February, 16th May, 15th August, 14th November and December tba.

A thank you to Detecnicks and Gary from WYVERN Club for providing help with the raffle prizes.

Watch out here for news of the regional charity event open to all regional clubs being held early in 2019 that you will not want to miss.

The Robin Hatt Competition coin entry had to be judged again and this resulted in another 2nd place win for the region with the coin entered by Phil Hartley for Hucclecote Club.

The Western Region has now entered a hoard from SHRADS, an artefact from WHRADA, and a coin from Hucclecote for the Robin Hatt Competition 2018. Well done to these clubs for making the effort to put items forward for the benefit of the region and hobby.

The NCMD were going to have their own Facebook group during January 2018. This was being set up and administered by a volunteer from a club in Wiltshire for a trial period. The whole idea was to help promote and keep alive the hobby, and members informed via social media; however after the trial period this has been withdrawn by the council. A very good alternative has been negotiated with a professional, and more about this when available.
